Premiere of All Things That Disappear

Premiere of All Things That Disappear, a collaborative project with pianist Ning Yu, as part of ‘Piano Realities’

"Piano Realities" is a program of works for piano and electronics, created and produced in collaboration by soloist Ning Yu and Qubit. As one of the foremost pianists of her generation, Yu is a champion of adventurous contemporary works, particularly those that incorporate aspects of sonic technology. As such, this concert has been specifically designed to realize the full potential of National Sawdust’s Constellation audio system, a multichannel environment with dozens of speakers.

Workshop + Concert

Natalie Chami, Alma Laprida, and Heather Stebbins each generate music and sound art using different instruments, techniques, and technologies. Through a blend of listening sessions, performance demonstrations, and collective sound creation, participants will gain insights into the diverse compositional practices of the presenters. Together we will explore the questions of what is a musical instrument, what is sound technology, and how we affectionately relate to them to generate musical experiences.
